What I can help with
- Bug reports. Please include the page URL, your browser, and what you expected to happen. A screenshot helps more than a description.
- Corrections to a meaning or inspiration label. The fragments have assigned creative glosses, not verified translations. If one is misleading, include the generated name, selected set, fragment and proposed correction. A reliable source helps when the issue concerns a real language.
- Feature requests. New generator modes, new cultural sets, new filters. Tell me what you are trying to name and why the current tool does not get you there.
- Privacy requests. Access, deletion, or questions about what is stored. See the Privacy Policy for what the site collects before you write.
- Licensing and usage questions. The short answer is in the Terms; write if your case is not covered there.
What I cannot help with
- Confirming that a generated name is free to trademark or use commercially in your jurisdiction. That check is yours to make.
- Translating a name into a real language, or verifying that a composed name is authentic. The generator joins fragments; it does not translate.
- Naming your character for you. That part is the fun part.
About the site
Fantasy Name Generator is a free, browser-based tool for tabletop roleplayers, writers, and game developers. It runs entirely on static pages and stores your favourites in your own browser rather than on a server. Advertising is intended to help support the site, subject to provider approval and your consent. The project is not affiliated with or endorsed by Wizards of the Coast or any tabletop publisher. Inspiration labels do not imply endorsement by, or expertise in, a culture or language.
