About the Cyberpunk Name Generator
This cyberpunk palette offers handles with project glosses related to technology, work and transformation. Choose whether a name should be easy to say, easy to type or deliberately unlike the character's formal identity.
The tool joins fragments and displays assigned creative glosses. Use the annotation to suggest a connection to a job, device or past event; it does not establish an official meaning in a game or fictional language.
Use them for street operators, corporate fixers, netrunners, and anyone whose birth certificate is no longer the most accurate document about them.
Two names, one of them legal
Try a character with a public handle and a separate name in an employer's database. Decide which form appears on a contract and which their friends use. This is a useful setup for a scene, not a requirement of cyberpunk.
Generate the handle and choose a different formal name for records. Write a message addressed to each form, then decide who can connect them. If that connection matters, show how someone obtained it.
Handles are earned, mocking, or self-assigned
Try three possible origins for a handle: the character chose it, their crew suggested it, or an automated system assigned it. Write one sentence explaining the choice and whether the character still wants the name.
If the handle came from a former employer, decide why the character kept it. They may value familiarity, dislike the cost of changing records or want to reclaim the name. Write the reason in the character note instead of assuming one political meaning.
Connect a handle to work or an obligation
Give the character a practical obligation involving technology: rented equipment, a maintenance debt, a surveillance shift or an identity check required for work. Decide whether the handle records that connection.
Choose a handle referring to a job or device, then put it in a contract or shift message. Check whether the context makes the reference understandable. A weapon-based handle can also work when the story gives it a specific reason.

How many Cyberpunk names can this generator make?
The current base pool contains 15 opening elements and 15 endings, producing 225 distinct spellings. Optional surnames and titles are outside this count. Repeated generation can return a name you have seen before.
How can I make cyberpunk names work as a group?
Decide whether names mark a crew, employer, homeworld or personal choice. Give a small group one shared feature and test whether readers can still distinguish its members. Leave room for exceptions: a name alone does not have to establish a person's allegiance.
Can I use these Cyberpunk names in my own work?
