About the Aasimar Name Generator
Aasimar are people touched by something celestial, and their names often sound like light, prayer or a promise. This set joins openers such as Ari-, Sol- and Cael- to soft endings like -thiel, -viel and -mael, giving names that suit paladins, healers, oracles and idealists who have started to doubt.
Every fragment has a gloss assigned by this tool. Sol is sun and -viel is mercy, so Solviel reads "Sun mercy". Use it as the character's ideal or burden; it is not a translation from an official celestial language.
Name the ideal, then test it
An aasimar's name can state what the character is supposed to be. Caeltor (heaven + guardian) and Vesnos (vigil + witness) both carry an expectation. Decide whether the character lives up to it, resents it or has stopped using the name.
A paladin called Caeltor who once failed to guard someone hears that failure every time the name is spoken. That is a scene, not just a label.
Separate the guide from the character
Many aasimar stories involve a celestial guide. Give the guide a name from the same set with a different rhythm, such as Lyrsha (hymn + song) or Paxren (peace + promise), so the players can tell guide and character apart at a glance.
If the character takes a new name after a crisis, write down who still uses the old one. The guide might be the last to change.
Keep the shine readable
Soft sounds can blur together: Arithiel, Elithiel and Orathiel share the same ending and almost the same rhythm. When several aasimar appear in one story, mix endings with different consonants, such as -tor, -dra and -kiel.
Give each a short form for battle calls. "Cael, behind you!" works; the full name does not.

Compare these invented constructions for your cast. Pick two similar names for related characters, then a contrasting one for a newcomer. Every Element in the Aasimar Set
These are all the fragments this page combines. Choose a meaning you want first, then look for the opener and ending that carry it. The generator joins them with two spelling rules: a consonant repeated across the join is written once, and pairs that would put the same vowel twice at the join are left out.
