Cast Name Checker, thirteen new generators, a list view and a clearer typeface
- New Cast Name Checker: paste the characters who share scenes and see which names are likely to be confused, with near-identical spellings, shared openings and endings, punctuation, consonant runs and long names reported separately.
- Saved names from the generator can be added to the checker, so a shortlist can be tested against an existing cast.
- Six new generators, each with its own name set and writing exercises: Gnome, Goblin, Dragon, Aasimar, Goliath and Ship.
- New Fantasy Surname Generator with family and clan names, and a Surnames tab in the generator. The clan set grew from 10 to 15 openers and endings.
- Every generator page now lists all openers and endings in its set, with their glosses and the set's size, instead of only three examples.
- Removed the question-and-answer block that repeated near-identical answers on every generator page. Usage rights and methodology are explained once, on the About and Terms pages.
- Six more race generators with their own name sets and writing exercises: Half-Elf, Half-Orc, Drow, Tabaxi, Genasi and Firbolg. Tabaxi names come in two lengths: the short name, and the long descriptive name in its gloss.
- New List view beside Cards: ten names with their meanings on one screen. The choice is remembered on this device.
- New interface typeface. The previous pixel face drew C almost like O, so a name such as Celnis could read as Oelnis.
- On phones the filters sit two to a row, so the first name and its meaning appear without scrolling, and the full element lists use two columns.
- Each generator page now has its own introduction beside the title instead of one line shared by every page of the same kind. The Elf page has a new section on high elves, wood elves and the gender filter.
- Results no longer include pairs that put the same vowel twice at the join, such as Sanaaamara or Enkiiddin, which read as typos. About 100 such names are gone from the generator pages.
- Names made of plain English words (taverns, ships, forests, mountains, surnames, tabaxi) no longer show a respelled pronunciation such as “eer-rohn-proh-mih-seh” for Iron Promise.
- New “Copy all” button copies the whole batch with meanings, ready to paste into session notes.
- The analytics question is now a short bar along the bottom of the screen, shown once you scroll or tap, instead of a panel over the first result on arrival. New site icon.
- Added this update log.
- Advertising consent in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland now uses Google's certified consent message. The site's own prompt asks only about analytics, and the footer link “Privacy and cookie settings” reopens both. Privacy policy and terms updated to match.

Methodology and content revision
- Rewrote the 21 inspiration-set pages as naming exercises and removed wording that presented creative glosses as translations or verified origins.
- Every result now has a “How this name is built” panel showing the exact fragments and their glosses.
- Page examples, generated results and set statistics now use the same name pools. Switching modes no longer leaves results from the previous mode on screen.
- Advertising code loads only after consent and only on content pages.
Naming guides and About page
- Published three guides: how to name a character, how to build a small naming language, and seven naming mistakes that break immersion.
- Added the About page, describing how names are composed and what the meaning labels do and do not claim.
- Expanded every inspiration set to at least twelve openers and twelve endings.
Redesign and name meanings reference
- New interface design for the generator and all reading pages.
- Added the Fantasy Name Meanings reference, listing every character opener and ending with its gloss.
Fewer, more useful generator pages
- Retired the separate male, female and neutral pages for each inspiration set. They repeated the same text with a filter applied; they now redirect to the set's main page, where gender is a filter in the tool.
Privacy and advertising settings
- Updated the privacy policy, terms and contact address.
- Advertising is requested as non-personalised and only after consent.
Consent and policies
- Added the consent banner, privacy policy, terms of use and contact page.
Example names on every generator page
- Generator pages include example names in the page itself, so they are visible before the tool has loaded.
First version
- First version of the generator, with character, race, place, title and science-fiction modes.
