About the Goblin Name Generator
The Goblin set produces short, sharp names for scavengers, tunnel crews and market hustlers: openers such as Snik-, Grub- and Krag- joined to clipped endings like -nak, -za and -gob. Most results have two syllables, which makes them easy to shout in the middle of a chaotic fight.
The glosses are this tool's creative labels. Snik is sneak and -nak is claw, so Sniknak reads as "Sneak claw". Use that as a hint for a habit or a role, not as a word from an official goblin tongue.
Name a warband by its jobs
Goblins are easier to run in combat when each one has a job, and the endings can carry it: -zog (boss) for the leader, -rit (trap) for the trapper, -dag (dagger) for the one in front. Kragzog gives orders, Snikrit set the snares on the path, and Mukdag charges first.
Write the job next to each name on your initiative tracker. When the players take down Kragzog in the second round, you already know who tries to take charge and who runs.
Give the survivor a reason to talk
A goblin who survives an encounter is a recurring character waiting to happen. Pick a name players can repeat easily, such as Takret (coin + weasel), for the one who offers to trade information for its life.
Decide what Takret wants, what it knows and what it will lie about. The name is the label the players remember; the deal is the story they come back for.
Avoid a wall of grunts
Ten names that all end in -gob or -nak blur together at the table. Mix endings with different vowels, such as Zikza, Blikmox and Grubtuk, and give the leader the one name that is noticeably longer or shorter than the rest.
If you are not sure whether two names are too close, paste the warband into the Cast Name Checker. Names that differ by one letter are the first ones players confuse when the fight gets loud.
Inside the Goblin Name Set
Compare these invented constructions for your cast. Pick two similar names for related characters, then a contrasting one for a newcomer. The glosses belong to this tool, not an official fantasy language. Results can resemble names from existing fiction; they are not checked for rights or exclusivity.

Every Element in the Goblin Set
These are all the fragments this page combines. Choose a meaning you want first, then look for the opener and ending that carry it. The generator joins them with two spelling rules: a consonant repeated across the join is written once, and pairs that would put the same vowel twice at the join are left out.
